The Land Transportation Regulation Directorate is responsible for the regulation of the taxi sector in Bahrain

The Land Transportation Regulation Directorate is responsible for the regulation of the taxi sector in Bahrain. The directorate is responsible for the issuance and renewal of all taxi and call taxi licenses. It also carries out inspections and regulates companies providing taxi services using mobiles and other innovative applications.

There are currently 1278 taxi vehicles operating in Bahrain 968 private taxi are for individuals and the rest  distributed to 5 companies serving the taxi and call taxi.
